Mercedes Electronic parts Catalogue and DataCard on line
Another good website for decoding G vins is Klaus' database and while it doesn't have everything Anakreon's list has, it also has many that his don't.
Dear Mr. Smart,
I am from Athens. In Greece.
I have nothing to do with Vancouver.
The gentle soul which provided me with the list resides in a body living in Canada.
Mind you, I've been over there - body & soul - umpteen times but count this as a mere coincidence.
Best regards.
PS. Thanks for Klaus' db
Ahhh sorry I misunderstood... I read the "brothers in arms" as you were also from Vancouver. I did see the Athens bit but you could of been Greek Canadian...
This is the vin on my bulgarian registration certificate!

Numbers look good,
Attached is a picture of my Vin plate. Maybe it will help?
I don't understand why it does not work with your VIN. It does with other Puchs....
Just a note to offer some help here. The system whilst being great most of the time doesn't always work. I have a 230C which won't list, whilst a 200 W123 same year etc does. Most of the W124's have come up, but only one of my two G's do!! Seems to be not all are listed for some reason-in that case, try your local friendly Main Dealer. They should have the data card still.

I guess I am not rich enough with my old car. for them to be bothered.
Just so you know, the chassis number is also stamped on the chassis rail behind the front right wheel and will help you double check.

It costs around that for a YEAR not each visit - unlimited visits and access but it is picky as to which computer/platform you try to open it from, it only works on Internet Explorer:

EPC works fine for me on Firefox.
EPC works fine for me on Firefox.
What platform are you using, if you don't mind me asking?
I tried it on a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.6.4 but no luck "unable to launch application". Firefox v3.6.6
Sony Vaio Laptop PC.
Windows XP (I think, how do I check?)
Firefox 3.6.6 until today, now 3.6.7

Ah I think that's the key difference...Windows. For some reason I don't think the EPC likes Mac very much.

hi friends, hi was trying to get a datacard on a recent purchase yet again....! but the russian website no longer offers the service..
can anyone get me details on this please. i am mostly interested in finding out which gearbox is fitted,as its an auto and i have a spare 617 in good health lying around. i know its not the best of options...but nothing wrong in trying, if its not a good combo i will probably end up fitting a 711-110 manual transmission.

Type your VIN then after opening at the top right side you can see the link data card.
It's definitely a Puch chassis number. The complete VIN should be VAG46023817900885... in any event, it looks to me that there is something wrong with that chassis number, because I cannot find the dtatacard either in the russian site or in my own licenced EPC...
