Hi with 4 owners!! you would need to see all the MOT certificates from 1994 (to support the mileage) and as many invoices as possible to support the service history recorded in the service book...looks tidy in the pics but 144.000miles without proven servicing can lead to some expensive surprises...
It was on eBay for twelve k a while back. If you can get some verification of the history it's probably worth about that, if not be careful. You'd want to allow for a couple of big things to fix.

why say that, you can pretty much tell the mileage by looking at it prior to purchase, those 300 engines are great, as for the rest of the running gear when have we heard of a TC gojng bang etc. Its history up to 122k, so from that you can get a taste of its annual milage over its age. If it goes for 9k its a nice motor.
hi I have witnessed some very "pretty" service history books prepared specially to support the price being asked. any invoice issued by MB lists all the items of work performed by them at the time of each service visit and they keep a service record in later years on computer. knowing what grade of oil was put in does not tell you a great deal...this is a good spec' vehicle and 9k would be a reasonable price for a "genuine" article.....just a point of interest...DVLA records state BLUE as the colour of the vehicle registered to the number plate on the G in the pics.. not BLACK as per the advert....issued in Edinburgh May 1991 and according to "Watchdog" tonight DVLA are never wrong!!!!
Hi maybe the seller is not the owner!!! as far as AMG the badge on the rear quarter is as close to AMG as you are going to get....it is a 300GEL with odd wheels and a bolt-on satnav.I will ask him for the Vin /chassis number and get the build spec from MB........

Hi My bid was highest on Ebay but did not meet the reserve ..I believe that Marios was talking to him after the bids closed. I spoke to the owner and determined that the aircon "needed gassing" and the cold start system was inop' have no idea how it finished up!!!
I'm buying the car today.

Marios, Did you Buy this G? I won the auction but did not meet the reserve. has anyone seen it in person, if it is indeed still for sale? Is it worth more than the £6900 I bid or should i look else where?
I think it's worth more than £6900, I think you could pay up to 9k if you didn't have to go far to get it and still be fairly happy..especially if in car DVD's are your thing. Sounds like it's gone though so I should look elsewhere. Keep an eye on the forum. For that sort of money there's a light blue SWB on ebay that's been for sale for ages.

It looks like a good deal but there is something fishy going on. I called the guy twice and he couldn't give me more details than listed. Then he told me he was going to call back.. both times.. never happened.???
