G55 3rd row seats
Hi guys,
New here. We're taking delivery of a new G55AMG next week and I could use a little advice. The car was a great deal and the perfect spec, except for one thing...
We need the car to be a 7 seater, but it isn't actually fitted with the 3rd row. We can get a set of seats, but we've had conflicting reports on whether its simple to fit them to a car that hasn't come from the factory with them. Does anyone on here know better?
Thanks
OJ
Hi - Welcome aboard. There is a post around here somewhere on how to do it.
But to summarise briefly the frame has all the mounts already but you will need to drill holes through the interior paneling to access them.
hi oj,
keep your eyes peeled on ebay.de. they arent commen but can crop up for a good saving.( i am sure i saw a set in black leather a while back.
if you ordered it new, then why did'nt you order the seats, or when you mean new, its a used one thats new to you ?

and welcome to the club, i think you'll find driving the G a big departure from all previous cars you've tried..once you get used to it in a month or 2 you'll never accept anything else!
Welcome! I think on the ride...you'll find a V8 G very un-bouncy and stiff over bumps (at least the 1999-2000 v8s were), maybe they have improved since then, but the handling can't be faulted for a car this size.
Also with the trim removal, it is fairly logical, start with the rubber trim on the side of the door, pull it off, then the panel with the speaker in it comes out easily, and go from there.
I have got the factory fitted jump seats in mine - you are welcome to take a look but it lives in Felixstowe.....
Ah, 4 years registered and a first post, welcome to the "other non-silent" side!
OJ,
I have attached some information about the Mercedes Benz Geländewagen G-class W463 jump seats that will assist you.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. New to us is more accurate! Although its only a couple of months old.
Hus, thought about ebay or perhaps a (posh) scrappie, but couldn't turn anything up.
M2dxb - Cheers. I've actually been a Defender/Range Rover driver for a fair while, so hopefully I wont need too much acclimatisation! I'm expecting the bounciness of the landy with interior and comfort akin to a P38 rangey... Although I'm hoping on better build quality than either of them
My Mum used to drive a G when I was a wee one, and she seemed very excited when I broke the news!
And cheers for the link! I'll have a good poke around under the trim when it arrives and I'll go from there :D
I'm glad that the mounts should already be there, I was dreading that because of the hand built aspect that the factory would only fit them to order during assembly
