Snorkels
I had to chicken out of a river crossing at the weekend as it looked bonnet height. Therefoe I am giving serious consideration I am giving serious consideration to fitting a Snorkel, this would also have the benefit of not being embaressed by all the local defenders sporting them and happily chugging across similar depths (although the flow rate on sunday looked at least as challenging as the height   I think the weight of G might have got through when a LR90 would have definitly been off down stream)
Has anybody done this on a 460 280? if so where did you source the parts from and how difficult was it to fit?
Russ maybe we can both do this ready for the next run out :D

Genuine article apparently quite cheap.
If not there is a guy on here called Mark Vulture, Vulture trading who fabricates them and will fit it as well (the hacking holes part in the wing and inner wing is a bit of a worry!)
Wasn't so much the depth as the speed that put me off, could have been an interesting if rather damp trip to Chester :D
Just a thought, but with a petrol engined G water up the air intake is only part of the problem: the ignition system does not like water. The air intake is already quite high: going any deeper is likely to drown the electrics.
Diesel on the other hand will not be such a problem "underwater"
Saw one on e-bay 2nd hand earlier. Looked decent. Sorry, I did not save the link to put it on for you.
not wise to put any petrol G into water much above wheel height.....the bow wave will drown the ignition system.....Unless you have screened ignition as on some military LRs. means different plugs a conduit encased ignition harness.. steel encased distributor.. and coil. and then you still need a snorkel.....
Have a chat to Mark hes looking into Raised air intakes 8)
