Steering Damper
Do any firms do a little more robust steering damper for a 280 :?:
Yes, Mercedes Benz. That of a 463 but you would probably need to change the bracket that joins the damper to the tie rod.
A Rancho RS5404 premium steering stabilizer will work but do a search on http://www.benzworld.org/forums/forums/forum-view.asp?fid=30 for rancho and steering dampers there is loads of stuff there - I run the latest 463 damper which works well - there is also a Maybach damper which is cheaper than the MB one and is known to work.
My 89 280 did not need any modification to fit it
Good Luck
i have one from TBR www.tbruk.com around £100. fantastic!!!
improved the cars handling as well. german made
i also got one from tbr, needed to extend the bracket though,no problem big difference in steering.OE i think aswell
A463 463 00 32 is the latest one I fitted: kills all vibration but has all but stopped the steering self centering. 166.34 Euros in Germany
