Thermatic question
Hi
Drove from Suffolk to Devon and back over the last few days in my 2008 G320CDI (left hand drive). For some reason, whatever temperature the dial for the driver's side was set at, cold air came out of the vents on that side. The passenger side worked fine. So I sat there cold even if my temp dial was set to fairly high, much higher than caused warm air to come out of the passenger side.
Question is, what are the likely causes of this? I don't imagine it is something I can fix?
Cheers Mike
Simple steps that it might be....
Get to the Battery- Rear passenger floor - in the centre you'll see two plastic screws, straight type screw driver half turn each, then lift from the rear to front and when placing back front end first then back then screw the screw halfway.
When you have the lid open get a 10mm or something like that socket, turn the nut off black cable(negative lead) for 30 seconds leave it off. Then after 30 secs put everything back together start your car and try the heaters, this should reset the Climate control.
If it dosen't work, then for sure it's a relay that needs putting in place or replacing.
BTW- Is the passenger or driver side carpets wet/damp under mat?
If the above does not work you can try getting the sensor checked in the system. I had this problem with an ML55, and they tried all sorts of things, the problem turned out to be a sensor in the tubing had shifted and was resting against warm wire that was feeding false information to the sensor and it kept belting out cold air, while the others were working fine.
was a simple job on the ML - not sure on the G's though.
Best of luck
