recent E'bay offer
earlier this week a LWB 1982 (460 )blue G wagon was on offer...pics showed a LWB Blue 463 with grey leather interior 9 seats and aircon bearing a 1982 issued registration plate.... "Ah' a personal plate one would think" DVLA records and HPI confirmed the details as a 1982 280ge LWB originally beige but notified as repainted blue in yr 2000....further research revealed that the actual G' offered for sale was built in 1991... on inspection the data plate on the air intake matched the vin number on the V5 being that of a 1982 280ge further inspection revealed that the chassis number stamped behind the offside front wheel on the chassis member had been removed by welding a bracket over the stamped numbers.....the last owner had the vehicle for 10 years ( statement of the seller) and the vehicle has now been sold to some unsuspecting soul who did not research the paperwork or verify the chassis numbers ---be warned
I saw that too. Looked like a ringer to me, I asked the seller to confirm the details re age/chassis numbers etc and only got told 'sorry I've sold it'. You'd think if you were going to swap logbooks and numbers, you'd find something less obvious, at least the same era!
got a link for that one, i normally have all the G's saved on my watch list, but not this one.
