Oil Stat pro's & con's

 Looking for opinion's on fitting a Oil Stat between engine & oil cooler

 Thinking of fitting one to OM602 (2.9lt 122hp/90kw) engine. Would like to speed up the oil warm up time.
 Would it make any difference ? Based in Ireland so much of the climate is cool to cold . 

 Any opinions appreciated.

PS Does anyone know the oil flow path in this engine ( example  sump to pump to filtre to cooler to head )

Hi, as far as I know, these engines do have an oil thermostat fitted, it's inside the filter canister. You must take the canister off the engine to get at it, it's held in with a circlip.
