that mileage is irrelevant for that v8 , so long as the maintenance has been done properly.

This one looks good and clean. Had a call with the dealer and he is keen to shift it - so wanted to check if anyone knew the car or previous owner?
I know it has been serviced in the past by G Wagen in Berks and has Merc history in MB Switz as original owner drove there - previous owner went on and bought a new G35) apparently from Merc derby !
Any feedback would be great - as aiming to see it next week if it's still available !

It's had a new radiator and Water or steering pump 3 years back, I'm sure the Head Gasket was done at the same time. The mats are missing, and the cruise dosen't seem to be working either.
Check the sunroof as it was not working also back then, can be expensive to repair when you take the whole headlining off! Also one of the rear windows was very slow. Mulifunctional radio + - Was not in function.
It could be all done now, the major bits were done privatly if I recall.
p.s I was looking to buy my G-wagon around that time but was quite expensive - so I settled for a 2001 G400 cdi LWB.
p.p.s Make sure the Engine idles nicely, once it gets to higher tempriture feel the steering or bonnet dosen't have no shaking/juddering etc even when driving, can be a poor headgasket job. And check the steering left to right.
A lot of these issues might have been dealt with by now, just helping you out.

Also heard that gearbox and exhaust had been updated too. Willupated this thread once I know more.

The BLACK G500 at AVANTGARDES was offered to me for £23000 cash, last year. I sold him the Original Spare wheel cover +ring + keys and plate.
I got to know the owner from Northampton who owned a farm there - saw the car then and it was a bit of a state tbh.
Low miles BUT! had plenty of RUST at the rear panel door area, this had been kept outside not in storage.... If you look at the rear panels you'll for sure see over spray or a whole complete car respray! And the owner did tell me about the 5-speed gearbox overhaul on this one specifically, I'm sure they used it for a year or so to tug farming gear.
I have the previous owners details somewhere if needed.

Thanks for that. The more you dig into it the less appetising it gets........I think !!
Anyway also found out that major work on exhaust replacement along with discs/brakes - a few years ago. It has a lot of receipts from the specialist in Berks - which I'll aim to checkout.
Fair play to dealer he did give me previous owner details too - so will check on that - if you have them PM please to cross check!
Cheers and thanks for the info - I'll take a look at this one and maybe take a cjheeky punt at an offer that reflects the overhaul work undertaken.
Hopefully there will be a few more G500 on offer early this year too!
