Re: New G wagen site

Wonder how long it will be before they start charging?  I thought it was well known and covered at every AGM that as a small club and limited funds these things have taken a back seat due to technical difficulties but still on the agenda as I understand it.

I quite appreciate that our committee is working hard given the time they have for notably no remuneration and have shown the dedication to the club over the years.

In my opinion, they have shown prudence in their spending, given the limited funds received and that too, in this day and age is reasonable.  For those expecting more, perhaps ought to consider that we should increase our membership rates comparable to the German clubs of near £100 per annum to get more; as a result I wonder how many members' will be left then?

I, for one, pledge my allegheny to the GWOA Ltd; it is not perfect, but any one have ideas to improve our standing should come forth and dedicate their time and effort for 'naught' forging strength and developing as that collective effort, should those few want to divide and rule, good luck to you, the G-Wagen market and forum generally is a very small market in the UK, how much more can another small club do more than what we as a club are and have achieved?

The opinions above, are my personal ones and I am quite frankly disappointed that another club has set up.  I do not intend this to be an opening to a blame game, "one side said this, and the other replied that"; suffice to state, if the other club has set due to the lack of the library, where are they going to get the information to set their own?  I have said my peace and that is all I will contribute to this issue.

I'll go back to snoring turkey feathers  after the Christmas break.   Zzzzzzzzzz

interesting to see some familiar names as members, obviously someone from here as the site says free g wagen forum, good luck to them but I'm not sure it will be a great hit.

Theres always room for another website / forum. This one gets so busy at times you can hardly get a post in edgeways. :-)

Agreed, surely the more information the better. No reason why someone shouldn't set up another site. It is not a club, just another source of information for like-minded people and as it didn't cost any more to be added to it, why shouldn't he?

Re: New G wagen site

PRW - really good find - worth the viewing and laughed my socks off.

I think its a question of where there is interaction.  I find GWOA excellent for support and information, albeit the range and number of postings is a little light.   it doesn't look like the other site forum will be more attractive than this one yet, but happy to see how it goes... I am sure there will be a LOT of cross-referencing between sites.
Probably they hope to make some money out of banner ads.
