Mind teaser - 2
Generally speaking,
I thought a good momentum to the first Mind teaser was developing but that was to be short lived.
The next one got difficult to think of, each problem I thought of, was unfair, to probably someone on the forum, I mean, the question would be technically biased, or it was model relevant, which made it unfair on the non model owners to answer and so, on.
But, in truth, it is so hard to think of anything and retain a competitive edge on the theme.
I will sponsor the wining lolly to our last winner, still have time to work on that. Long time to the AGM.
I thought I would do one more question and inform you at the same time why there may not be another.
The problem is unfortunately technical but, it can fall in the general knowledge field, so I thought, I would challenge you into this one.
Question:
Where can you find "JIGGLEPIN" in your vehicle, and how many are there?
This time around, I will only answer at the deadline, which is reduced down to a weeks' time; ending 14/05/12 by 18:00Hrs.
Instead, of the Mind teaser, I have now thought on working to 'Spot the difference'. I am working on one which involve in spotting 10 missing items. I think you will like this one. I do not have to think too hard my self.
Good luck,
Its function is to allow trapped air past a closed thermostat as a build up of air can cause engine damage.
As a guess

(Strawberry or pineapple please)
Hi Rakesh,
I think Spider's right - it's part of the thermostat which means there's only one??
I think its a 'Pin' and you can 'jiggle it'. It singular, so there's only one?
Why? MB couldn't think of a better name for it? 'Ein kleiner wiggly pin thing'
Since the first answer closely matches the first result in a Google search, we may need a harder question?
I like the spot the difference/omission/addition idea though.
"Google and ye shall find"
I guess even 'hard' quizes can be wrecked by Google and the power of the internet. The answer is always out there, somewhere:
Most thermostats have a Jiggle pin. Its function is to allow trapped air past a closed thermostat as a build up of air in front of the wax capsule could cause engine damage. The wax capsule relies on coolant to relay heat to operate. If air was surrounding the capsule and the engine was at operating temperature, the stat would remain closed and cause the engine to overheat.
Pics here: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=jiggle+pin&hl=en&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&t...
Now the last part - how many on a G ? Tempted to stick to the answer of 1, but I wonder if there are other thermostats - heating system?
This may not be in the spirit of the quiz - but I learnt something new, which is surely part of the objective.
There is a split pin fitted in a hole in the bottom of the clutch housing wasn't that called the jiggle pin
ohhhhh I would say there are two and they are located in the engine bay, somewhere, am thinking next to the heat controller thingy, which is just aft of the raditor.
(Do I get half a lolly then??)

I think, like I have said, I keep my comments until the deadline, keep them coming in.
I have, had two replys on the PM to which, my comments will be collectively made.
Or, if I can not resist the temptation, I might even PM to you guys, lets see how long I restrain my self.
Regards,
