The advert says it is a 461 PUR special edition manufactured bt Steyr Puch in 1997 and then completely rebuilt in 2008 with only 10,000km on the clock.
I have seen a few of these on American websites with similar rear bulkheads so it would appear that they are probably factory built rather than DIY. I would quite like one based on a 463.
That was a factory unit. There are some in the UK too, Sussex fire has them . See the explanation from the original importer below
That is, actually, one of 12 Puch Super Gs we sold to West Sussex Fire & Rescue Services. They were bought in as four-door chassis cabs and the drop-side pick up body and lift-off GRP canopy were added by Automotive Technik Fabrications (ATF), a subsidiary of the then Automotive Technik Limited (ATL) Group.
Now of course, having gone through two changes of ownership, we are British Aerospace Systems Land Systems Pinzgauer Limited (phew!) and we no longer sell Gs, but manufacture Pinzgauer in all its many guises.
It was only the rear bodywork that was unique to West Sussex; they had one long wheelbase station wagon too, incidentally. We sold several four-door crew cab variants to other organisations, mainly fire & rescue.
The 3.4metre G with HD axles is fantastic off-road. Loads of ground clearance and stacks of low down torque from the stonking 2.9 turbo intercooled engine. Those vehicles also had a pto drive on the transfer case and an electronic hand throttle control.
They will be worth bidding for when the fire brigade eventually puts them up for disposal, but when that'll be is anybody's guess

Not sure if this is the hd version as the wheel archs aren't wide enough for the hd axle
hi Bigblock,
The chap at Tschiewagen made up a G500-based extended wheelbase model a few years ago. It was custom-built: and bought by MB because they like it so much! He could build you another one I'm sure if you wanted it.......
Happy hunting.
