Re: Gong Xi Fat Chai.. Kung Hey Fat Choi..

it's something built specifically for the coming IOX (indonesian offroad expedition), an IOF (indonesian offroad federation) event starting around feb 9. scheduled to be 2 weeks of jungle expedition, even passing through what used to be a road that hasn't seen any vehicle for 25-30 years

volvo c303 portal chassis, toyota engine, and what's left of the Gwagen shell  :) plus a tourret opening from a mog
extra rail had to be added around the hood because the engine doesn't fit in with the portal chassis
it originally had a 100mm body lift added, but didn't feel safe, so it was cut down to 50mm iirc

3 'Gwagen' joining the trip, none is really a G anymore
the other ones have a jeep cherokee engine, and another toyota engine
both with canvas doors, and full roll cage, winches front & back, what else, i can't even remember

but i have been promised a lot of photos from the event.
& i'll post more once i get them

Re: Gong Xi Fat Chai.. Kung Hey Fat Choi..

unfortunately, this is all i can find, shows a little bit of the truck from the side..
originally a LWB wagon, the back end has been chopped to be a pick-up, rear passenger doors are welded shut.
3 seats inside the cabin, the one at the back right in the middle. one for driver, co-driver, and mechanic

in the mean time, the IOX trip which was originally suppoesd to be 'un-scouted', due to the huge number of vehicles participating, is being surveyed by the trip leader. i just got some pics today. OOT from the Gwagen forum, but i thought it'd be interesting to some of the people here.

these were the same guys who finished the old LR camel trophy track (which was abandoned in the middle of the expedition & ALL vehicles were evacuated by helicopters because they couldn't finish the track)
