Also, in the current issue of Mercedes Enthusiast there is an interesting quote from Ola Kallenius (Chairman of AMG):
" People ask me how long will you continue to build the G-Class? My answer is always long - very long. There is no reason to run it out".
Hello Mountain Goat 7,
I rather like; I am supposing here, the big oil coolers built into the bumpers, rather like some 'shades' to the vehicle.
The other feature is the two lines of chrome strip, running horizontally, a case of "less is more".
Wish, I had one.....
Regards,
Top gear have done a review and it's not good..but how can it be..2012 engine in a 1979 car !
The Americans are to blame, why would you want 500bhp in a top heavy heavyweight truck that can't corner...utterly pointless and more than a little irresponsible.
I have never seen Top Gear pass good comments when comes to the G-Wagen, what ever its faults are, I can live with them. Never mind what the 'three stuggies' say....entirely, my opinion; so all you lawyers - sit.
Give them a Range Rover, they'll be drooling over it.
Cheers,
i love it !!!
the W461 300cdi professional remains to be at the top of my wish list..
but i wouldn't mind having the new AMG as weekend fun car.
i used to think the pre-2002 interior is the 'best-fitting' for a W463. no-nonsense traditionalist and closer to the 'military-roots'
but now, having seen the new interior, the 2002-2012 suddenly started to look more traditional and 'acceptable' to the W463
that said, i know i'm greedy, but i wouldn't mind having one of each interior models of both 463 and 460/461 in my garage :)

Hi Rakesh - Not sure if I like the new front end styling - looks a bit clumsier than previous model? Probably is for cooling as you say.
I'd still probably have one if I had the money .......
