Dunno - G55?  Looks like a Pope-mobile but definitely unique and a head turner.  I'd have it.

I suppose it would be nice in summer and yes a definite head turner! I think I'll stick to my sun roof though!

I agree it does not quite look right.

I think, normal convertible have the body cut  a little lower; as you look at this photo, notice the second tailgate hinge is still present, normally, I feel, that hinge is not there the body line omits the second hinge and is usually cut at the lower body panel line.

Cheers,

Hi Rakesh, I think what makes this one a little different is it is a based on the four door LWB 463.

Hello bigblock,

Thank you for your posting, I had only seen the one photo earlier and did not realise it was a Lwb.

In an ugly sort of way, it looks nice to my eyes, I rather like it, it takes all sorts when comes to tastes - hey.

Cheers for pointing that out, I would have never known otherwise.

Re: Convertible G-wagon?

Hi
looks like somebody got at it with a "whizzwheel" and cut the roof off a few centimetres back from the top of the windscreen then welded in a roll bar. it then becomes "pillarless" from the roll bar back and looks like it has a soft top cover from the bottom half of the back door forward to  behind the windscreen      it has side markers soprobably  an American spec G' ...I suppose if you have the weather it is pleasant to drive around in
.security for the shopping could be a problem though

There's definitely money at the top!  The conversion was by Newport Convertible Engineering, and they have more pics on their page

A Cayenne and Panamera this year, but my favorite is the yellow Toyoto Cruiser a while back.

Re: Convertible G-wagon?

Nice find, may give them a call once I have won the lottery! :)

I do like the G conversion, better than some I have seen, but in a LWB??? I must say it is rather nice. As has been poited out, not too sure that it would be out for many days here in the UK, but would be a head turner.

I bless you all
