Brake Disks
Hi all ,
Have a question - can Brake Disks for a G55 2002 fit a 2001 G500? I will soon be in need of changing the disks on my 500 and have been offered a set of AMG disks for a 55 at very competitive price and was wondering if it can be done.
On the surface they both look the same, ventilated and size, so your comments would be helpful.

Question - are the caliers the same?
Try EBC Direct for disc and pad prices.
I suppose to stop all that wood and leather from high speed you need excellent brakes!
Hi Spider1V,
Well one answer is, provided the dimensions and fittings are the same, YES you can use. The basis of logic here is a G55 - 2002 is expected to be more powerful than the G500 0f 2001; the disc should be over engineered. Standard, generic G500 discs are available at some £53 each , if you are getting a better deal than that, go for it.
Pedantically speaking, If you furnish a chassis number of a 2001 registered G55 we can compare part numbers against your 2000, you have your chassis number on your forum signature any way.
According to EBC they list the same disc number for a 500 G - '98 onwards and G500 - '98 on wards.
Now I have go back to see if I did read it to include G500AMG - sorry, the old memory is no longer the same.
Hi
From my reckoning they are both exactly the same.
If you came to me with your chassis number for the G500 and a G55AMG you would get the same disc for both.
Only the latter G55's changed disc but even then the the disc should fit OK as the pads and calipers are the same.
Checking yours against DW G55AMG they are both identical.

Panzer - you don't know the half of it! Thanks for the heads up!
