I am not so keen on the red Italian one....

all the body panels for these are only avalable in the UK
left over from when BAE were the owners of steyr puch
and will not sell the rights back
Just to set the record straight, BAE never owned Steyr Puch. ....and Steyr Puch's parent company is Magna Steyr.
Automotive Technik Limited, the British company responsible for introducing the Pinzgauer to the MoD UK in 1994, subsequently took over manufacture of that vehicle in 2000 after the Graz factory declined - for perfectly understandable commercial reasons - to build any more. The production line was moved lock, stock and barrel to ATL's premises in Guildford and Fareham where a considerable number of various Pinzgauer 4x4 and 6x6 models were built, mainly for UK and New Zealand military, plus a scattering of trucks for UK Fire Brigades and some other export markets. We even sold one to the Austrian Electricity Board. The smaller Haflinger vehicle, long obsolete and out of production anyway, did not feature in that manufacturing arrangement.
To cut a long and sad story short, Automotive Technik Ltd. was subsequently taken over by an American company called Stewart and Stevenson, based in Texas, and, not long after that, they were taken over by another US company called Armor Holdings. There was a short pause for breath, then BAE in the United States bought up Armor Holdings, presumably to gain a foothold in the lucrative military armoured vehicle market. Sadly, in my opinion, Pinzgauer was swept up in that deal...... and, to all intents and purposes, effectively killed off within the year, production ceasing in 2008
My view of the latter proceedings may be slightly jaundiced as after 14 years involved at every level of Pinzgauer, redundancy came my way, but, hey, that's life in modern Britain and it ain't half nice being retired. No more commuting to Guildford every day...Yay!
A great shame as these would be one of the very few vehicles I would change my G-wagen for. Do you know what became of the tooling?

If you are looking to start a factory, can I have a job please, pretty please........
As far as I know, all tooling for the Pinzgauer that was still fit for purpose was retained by BAE and put into storage. To be honest, I doubt very much if there is anybody left with the company who could identify any of it, let alone resume manufacture. Sadly, it would no longer meet Construction and Use standards anyway, which was one of the many problems.
To the best of my knowledge, the Haflinger tooling stayed with Magna Steyr at Graz, but have no idea what they may have done with it. If you want to pursue all matters Haflinger, I suggest you contact a company called "Haflinger Technik" up in Scotland. Their website address is: http://www.haflingertechnik.com/html/index.php
They also dabble in Pinzgauers, and have a few interesting vehicles for sale.
Another company that deals in Pinzgauers is Shropshire Gunbus and they do some interesting work with these vehicles too. You'll find them at: http://www.shropshiregunbus.co.uk/
They also sold a few hi spec 461 G 290 trbo ( sprinter type badged Steyr )
The one i drove was a sluggish auto but loaded spec cruise air etc
good links, thanks

Cheers guys thanks for info !
