230 fuel pump location
So, after rebuilding the 300gd I have now been landed with 1990(ish) 230 fresh out of barn where its been sat for about 6 years or so. The fuel pump has been condemned ( not by me) but I have been given the job of replacing it. I have the new pump but cannot find its location on the car. I thought it should be next to the filter and accumulator under the rear of the chassis, but it's not there. Help!

it is under a tin cover at the front of the fuel tank protector plate /longest edge nearest the front of the vehicle there are bolts that hold the cover on ,they usually shear off !
the pump is connected directly to the bottom of the tank by a short piece of hose /disconnect the battery before you tackle this job and be prepared for stale fuel to pour out / if you can undo the brass bung in the bottom of the tank and drain it down first.
